ABOUT OMER

With piercing blue eyes, arms covered in artful tattoos, and a striking voice, Omer Netzer is redefining what it means to be a country artist in today's global landscape. Hailing from Nahariya, a small coastal town in northern Israel, Netzer’s music is less about borders and more about building bridges between cultures, genres, and most of all, people.

Music has always been Netzer’s lifeline. Raised in a family that ran the local music shop, an institution in his hometown for over four decades, he grew up surrounded by an eclectic mix of influences. An old soul at heart, some of Netzer’s earliest memories include jamming with other musicians, often two or three times his age, and diving into artists like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson, which was unique for a kid living in Israel. Add B.B. King, The Allman Brothers Band, Hank Williams, and Elvis to the list, and it is easy to see how Netzer found his way to writing country and blues music.

Music served as the core of his upbringing, and also as a source of salvation for a child growing up in a war-torn country. “There were days when I couldn’t go outside because of conflict,” he recalls. “I would sit in the bomb shelter and play guitar. That’s when I first realized music could save a life.”

Over time, music transformed from a form of survival into a mission: to heal, unite, and inspire. Music is just one of the powerful tools Netzer has used in his lifelong mission to help others heal. He served as a combat medic, providing life-saving care to wounded comrades on the battlefield. Off the front lines, Netzer combined his skills as an experienced horseman with his deep empathy to work as an equine therapist, using the calming presence of horses to support emotional and mental healing in those struggling with trauma.

His breakout debut album, Goodbye Song, produced with a local musician from his parents’ store, spawned three radio hits and made him a household name in Israel. But Netzer wasn’t content to stop there. He took his music all over Europe, including the Sziget festival in Hungary in 2018 with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Ray, Mumford & Sons, and Lewis Capaldi. In 2019, his music got into the hands of Bon Jovi’s team, who asked him to open for the multi-platinum-selling band in Tel Aviv, a pivotal moment that led him to Nashville, TN, where a member of Bon Jovi’s team encouraged him to plant deeper roots in Music City.

Taking that advice to heart, Netzer moved with his family to Nashville in late 2023. Just six days later, tragedy struck in his homeland. The experience, though devastating, reinforced his commitment to his purpose to create music that uplifts, unites, and crosses divides. “Music reminds us that even in pain, we can find beauty. Even in difference, we can find common ground,” Netzer says.

Since returning to the U.S. in early 2024, he’s wasted no time. He signed with Oscar Chavira at White Knuckle Productions, began collaborating with top-tier Nashville songwriters, and performed on renowned stages such as Whiskey Jam and CMA Fest, becoming the first Israeli artist to ever play the latter. Working alongside producer David “Messy” Mescon (Megan Moroney, Dasha, Tigirlily Gold), he’s crafting a new project that blends his global perspective with the roots of Southern rock and country soul.

The first single from his upcoming project, “Midnight Blue,” is a soul-stirring ballad that captures the ache of loss and the quiet beauty of vulnerability, wrapped in the timeless sound of country and blues. Omer Netzer’s music doesn’t just tell stories, it builds bridges. With grit, gratitude, and a voice full of heart, he’s proving the American dream is not only alive, it sings.

Rather than dwelling on hardship, Netzer uses his life story to build empathy and connection. In a time of deep division, his songs serve as a gentle but powerful reminder that music still has the power to unite us all. With a guitar in his hand and a mission in his heart, Omer Netzer isn’t just chasing the American dream; he’s using it to create something bigger: a movement of healing, one song at a time.
